After going through all of last year’s documents (receipts, bills, tax forms, etc.) I determined that I am not storing some of my documents the best way. Last June, I shared the way that my family stores our files.
I love the way I have this organized, but I found that some of the files never get touched. Therefore, they are just in the way. I think they would be better organized and accessible if they were placed in binders.
The file bin should only contain bills, papers, etc. that are fluid; meaning documents that go in and out from year-to-year. So, some reorganization is needed!
Instead of overwhelming you with all of the binders in one post, I have decided to make it a series of posts. For the next 8 weeks, I will tackle a binder a week and share the results with you.
Week 1: Home
Week 2: Personal
Week 3: Manuals
Week 4: Taxes
Week 5: Blog
Week 6: Medical
Week 7: Recipes
Week 8: The Wrap-Up
Please note: The binder list is subject to change. I created this list off the top of my head. As I start working on this project, I may decide to add, change, or take away a binder. I want it to be the most beneficial for my household, so tweaking my list may be necessary.
Now, you may be asking what binders I will be using. Or, what contents I will be purchasing for each binder.
The binders I will be using are Staples® Better® View Binders.
I have used them for several other things and I really like them. They are bold, bright, durable, and they come in a variety of colors and sizes. For this project, I will be using a different color for each category. It will definitely add a colorful element to my office once they are displayed.
I will also be using Avery sheet protectors that I purchased through Wal-Mart.
There will be different dividers and materials that I use for each binder, so I will share them each week.
Are you ready to get started?!?! I am definitely ready. Next week, it will be all about my “Home.”
