If you have followed me for awhile, you probably know that I wear many hats. One of those hats includes being a cheer mom. My daughter, Kate, has been doing competitive cheer for 3 years now. This year, we moved her gyms and she loves it. She has been practicing at least 7-8 hours a week for competition season, which started this past weekend.
We will be on the go up until the end of May (we are hoping) with competitions in various cities.
Whoever said cheerleading is not a sport has never been to a cheerleading competition. These girls are definitely athletes who come home with bumps and bruises almost daily.
There is a certain dress requirement for competitions. They have to have makeup and their hair completely fixed. The gym determines how they want the girls’ makeup and hair to appear on stage. Then, it is up to us cheer moms or dads to make it happen.
I hope you enjoy this video. I am really happy with how it turned out. 🙂 I will add some pictures from her competition below as well.
