Welcome to my tenth closet challenge post. If you missed the first 9 posts, please feel free to visit the links below:
Just like the kids’ bathroom closet, right after we moved, we just placed Kate’s things in her closet. The kids each have a small walk-in type of closet. There is enough room to walk in there and stand… unless it is piled with mess.
When we moved in, we seriously just threw all of her stuff in the closet so we wouldn’t have to look at it. We knew that we would get it organized, eventually. At that moment, our main goal was getting everyone’s stuff out of the floor and out of our everyday walking space.
After getting “almost” completely moved in, my main goal in Kate’s closet became getting her identical hangers. I feel that identical hangers immediately streamlines a closet. We went with the Real Simple® Slimline 30-Count Flocked Children’s Hangers from Bed Bath and Beyond. Remember, Bed Bath and Beyond coupons DO NOT expire even though they have an expiration date on them. So, for each box we purchased, we used a $5.00 coupon on them.
After I had the hanger situation taken care of, I moved a book shelf we weren’t using anymore in the closet for her books and a 3-tier rack (the ones I have been swooning about) to the other side for toys and keepsakes.
And, here is Kate’s closet now…
The coffee can holds change and the middle box holds doll accessories. The box on the right is her Watch Me Grow box.
