Welcome to my eighth closet challenge post. If you missed the first 7 posts, please feel free to visit the links below:
Let me start this post by saying that one of my husband’s favorite songs is Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd and it suits him well. He doesn’t require a lot and doesn’t like fancy clothes. He is a football coach and most of his wardrobe is football-oriented. He doesn’t have an elaborate shoe collection or set of ties. He doesn’t wear ties very often at all. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
These are all the same hangers. It frustrates me that they do not hang lined up, but that is how wooden hangers do sometimes. I guess, unless you purchase the real expensive ones. These came from Bed Bath and Beyond. I purchased them over 6 or 7 years ago. I think at the time, I purchased a set of 20 for $9.99.
The box at the far left holders extra footballs.
The footballs on the right are special ones that need to be displayed. Derrick was actually given a football that was signed by Derrick Thomas in the 90s. One of the two men he was named after. Two dear family members surprised us with it. So, it will be placed in a glass case when we get his room redone.
Ok, you guys, my husband has OCD tendencies too. There are some things that he allows me to mess with of his and others that drive him insane. I know his racks are not color-coded and organized exactly like mine, but that is the way he likes it.
He keeps all of his t-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, and pants on these racks. Dress pants go on these racks too. He always purchases the wrinkle-free pants, so they do not wrinkle when they are folded.
His shoes line the closet floor. Yep! Besides two other pairs, this is his shoe collection.
The white basket to the right of the racks stores hats. I am sure you are wondering what in the heck that is on the top of the basket…
That is his Mad Hatter’s hat that I made for him about 5 years ago. It is actually not a hat. I made it out of fabric and cardboard. He has tried to throw it away several times, but I keep pulling it back out. I spent a lot of time and hard work on that bad boy and I intend on keeping it.
To the left of his racks is our dress clothes laundry basket. We have a special laundry basket that holds our clothes that need to be washed separately or in a special way.
