Welcome to Day 2 of Go Green Week. Yesterday, I shared a donation tracker that I plan on using when I prepare my Goodwill donations. I definitely need improvement in that area.
Today, it is all about cleaning organically. For over a year now, I have wanted to start making my own household cleaners. I have scoured the Internet for a solid year for an excellent book to help me start the process without any luck… until now!
I was reading my daily blog reads when I stumbled across the fact that Becky from Clean Mama (check out her awesome site here) was about to come out with a book called The Organically Clean Home. I immediately ordered 2 copies; one for myself and one to give away to one of you.
I have been a follower of Becky’s since I started my blog back in 2011. She has excellent cleaning printables and ideas to help even the most unmotivated person to get up and clean something.
When the books arrived at my doorstep, I immediately ripped open the package and dug into the book. Becky did an amazing job with this book. The colors are beautiful, the material is top notch, and it is organized wonderfully. The page formatting is perfect too. The content versus white space is wonderful, which makes it easy to read. She even goes through a weekly cleaning routine, tools to use, and details each ingredient listed in the book.
In addition, the recipes for homemade cleaners are great. The are easy to read and understand. Plus, the ingredients are ones that everyone will know and recognize. You know when you read a recipe and you feel like you need to go overseas to purchase the ingredients? You definitely won’t feel that way after reading this book.
I plan on trying the following immediately:
- laundry detergent (pg. 108)
- dishwasher detergent (pg. 41)
- window and mirror cleaner (pg. 91)
- liquid dish soap (pg. 40)
I will definitely update everyone when I find the recipes that will become household staples.
Now, it is your turn to own one of these awesome little books that will become a manual for me! Enter using the Rafflecopter below.

Disclosure: All of the opinions in this post are mine. Becky from Clean Mama did not pay me to promote her book. I purchased the book and wanted to give it to one of my awesome readers.
