Last week was Planner Week on the blog. I covered 4 different posts on the subject, but I felt I didn’t explain how I was going to use my new planner. And, frankly, that is pretty darn important! So, I have added a 5th post over my planner to share that info.
If you missed any of my planner posts from last week, feel free to visit the links below:
For 2015, I plan to use my Filofax in two different areas: my blog and for personal use. Mainly for my blog, but also for a little personal business as well. I have broken down all the information below:
This will be the main use for my planner. I want to be able to prepare my posts at least two weeks ahead of time. By keeping an updated calendar, I feel I will be better prepared each week. I started keeping an editorial calendar a year ago and it has helped me tremendously. At the moment, I am keeping my calendar in a huge binder and it is extremely too big. I find it impossible to keep my binder in my purse because of it’s size. So, I always have to carry it by hand. I can’t wait to start using my A5 Filofax in January.
I am a BIG to-do list maker! I make daily to-do lists. I feel they keep me motivated and organized on a day-to-day basis. I also make blog to-do lists. Those lists usually contain things that I need to do for future blog posts, people I need to contact, items I need to purchase, etc.
I plan on having a section in my Filofax devoted to my blog to-do lists.
Blog Post Ideas
I like to keep a running list of blog posts that I would like to do in the future. Anytime a random thought pops in my head, I write it down. I also listen to y’all as well. So, if there is anything you would like me to cover, shoot me a comment below or an email.
I like to cover topics that y’all want to see.
The main “personal” way I plan to use my Filofax is for a wallet. I tend to carry too much stuff when I travel anywhere. No matter if it is to work, the grocery store, running errands, or shopping. So, I would love to have a system that works as a planner and wallet. That will cut down on some of the items in my purse.
- Receipts: I plan to keep all of my receipts from a single outing in my clear Filofax zippered pouch. Then, transfer them to my receipt file once I get home.
- Cash: I plan to use one of the zippered compartments inside my planner for extra cash, if I ever have any. I am not known to carry cash around. I should get in the habit, though.
- Debit / Credit Cards : One of the reasons I chose the Finsbury over other Filofax styles is because of the card spots inside the planner. I wanted to be able to carry my driver’s license, debit card, and a few other cards in my planner and the Finsbury will allow me to do that.
How do you use your planner?
