On Wednesday, I shared my blog survey results with y’all. I learned that Facebook is the most popular social media for my readers.
But, here is the thing with Facebook…
It is getting harder and harder for bloggers to reach their audience using it. Why? It has to do with Facebook’s settings. Honestly, I think they want us to pay to reach more people because we can sponsor posts and promote them now. They have a nice little “promote” box under each post we make. I am sorry, but if I am going to spend money, I want it going directly to y’all in the form of a giveaway, for example.
As a Facebook user myself, I had to find a way to be able to see every post my favorite bloggers made, so I created an Interest Group called “Favorite Blogs.” Today, I am going to walk you through how to create one.
Let’s assume you are already logged into Facebook…
Step 1: Click “More” Under Interests
When you open up your Facebook newsfeed, on the left, you will see your sidebar. Close to the bottom of your sidebar, you will have an Interests heading. Hover over it, until the word, “More,” pops up. It will be in a light blue font.
Once it pops up, click on it.
Step 2: Click “+ Add Interests”
Once your Interests page opens up, there will be a button towards the top middle of the screen that says, “+ Add Interests.” Click on it.
After clicking on “+ Add Interests,” you will see an “Add Interests” page open up. In the top right of that panel, there will be a button labeled, “+ Create List.” Click on that button.
Once you click on, “+ Create List,” a secondary panel will open on top of your current page (the facebook newsfeed will turn gray behind the panel). If you would like to choose pages to include in the interest group before naming it, you can do so here. I usually wait to add pages until after I have created my group.
After you have chosen your pages (if you want to do that step first), click, “Next.“
I labeled the picture below with a #1 and #2 indicating the order of the steps. Type in the name of the group you are forming in the “List Name” box and then, click “Done” at the bottom right.
Your Interest Group has now been created!
If you would like to add pages to your group, you can type the page name under the “+ Add to this list” box at the top of the right sidebar.
