How to Switch from Blogger to WordPress.org: Part 3 (plugins)
Welcome to part 4 of my four part How to Switch from Blogger to WordPress.org series. If you missed the first three posts click one of the links below before attempting anything in this post.
Last week, I shared all of the current plugins I am using on my blog. This week is all about wrapping everything up. Give yourself a pat on the back because all of the hard work is done. YAY!!!
Switch Account Information
This is a very important step that I forgot about in the very beginning of the switch. All of the accounts that are linked to your old URL will need to be switched to your new one, especially if you are making some sort of income (no matter how small).
- Google Adsense
- Google Analytics
- Social Spark
- and, any other account info
Reconnect Social Media
Your social media accounts usually have your Website link listed on your profile, homepage, etc. So, make sure you go to those social media outlets and change them. You will want the correct blog information on these sites.
Reformat Imported Posts
Depending on how many blog posts you had made before the switch, this may take a good amount of time. I am still on this step. I had over 400 blog posts already when I switched in April and it is taking a lot of time to make sure every single one of them looks appealing.
My biggest issue has been the photos. All of them imported over teeny-tiny, so I am going through and downloading them again and inserting them back into the posts.
And, you should be done at this point!
I hope the journey of switching has been made a little bit easier because of this four week tutorial. Please comment below or email me with any questions you may have.
