Welcome to my first Favorite Things post of 2016! You may’ve noticed that I skipped my December favorites. When I was creating my list for December, I realized that most of my favorites had already been talked about in my December Planner Supplies Haul video, so I decided to skip that month.
So, today’s favorites are a combination of December and January’s. I hope you love my first favorites list of 2016.
Erin Condren Elastic Bands
At the beginning, I really didn’t understand the point of elastic bands for your planner. I felt that a nice size binder clip should do just as good as an elastic band. Well, that idea changed once December hit and my nice binder clip was having trouble holding all of the planner pages I had already used. So, I decided to order the Erin Condren elastic bands because she was having a 30% off sale. I will admit, I thought they would be a lot wider in person. I was thinking more along the lines of an elastic headband you can purchase at Wal-Mart, but it was a lot thinner, shiny, and sleek. Bear in mind, there are many etsy shops that sell adorable planner bands and an elastic headband would do the same job. I just liked how the Erin Condren bands matched all of my accessories.
Barrington Gifts St. Anne Monogram Tote
I have a tendency to change up my bags often. My work bag has been no exception this year. At the beginning of the year, I was using the Orla Kiely diaper bag from Target. I really loved the bag, but somehow in December, I threw all of my school goodies into my Barrington Gifts tote and went to work. I have no idea what made me switch like that, but I really liked carrying it to work after that day.
I thought I would hate the idea of the single large interior pocket, but I actually love it. All of my things are contained within individual pouches (planner, pens, wallets, etc.), so it actually works perfect. One compartment where everything is easy to get to. Thumbs up in my book!
I love the bag so much, I will probably carry it for the rest of the school year and purchase a new print for the 2016-2017 school year.
Kate Spade Wellesley Agenda
My mom purchased me the Kate Spade Wellesley agenda for Christmas in 2014. I wanted it really bad, but had no idea what I was going to do with it. I had seen them all over social media and the eye candy got to me. I already had my Erin Condren planner that I was using, so I just left this little beauty sitting in my office until I could find out what to do with it.
This past fall, I decided to get it out and use it as a wallet. And, it was one of the best decisions. I love the way I have it set up (check the link below for my whole set up video) and it works great when running errands. I do not carry a purse on a daily basis, so I will just grab this agenda out of my work bag and run into the grocery store. I don’t have to worry about anything falling out either because it has a zipper that closes the agenda.
Scentsy Vanilla Bean Buttercream
This was one of those whim purchases. I ordered my son the football Scentsy for a Christmas present and I wanted to order the bundle that came with 3 Scentsy bars. They discontinued my all-time favorite scent, Vanilla Suede, so I had to decide on a new scent to try out. I love any type of vanilla scent in my home, so I gave the Vanilla Bean Buttercream a try. And, I think I like it more than the Vanilla Suede. It smells just like buttercream icing mixed with vanilla. Thumbs up in my book!
Now, we are to my lifestyle favorites…
Under Armour Tech Zip Pullover
We are an Under Armour family! We should actually own stock in it. My husband is a football coach and has been a lover of Under Armour since high school. Before I even knew the brand existed. So, as a family, we own a lot of their pieces. I know they can be on the pricey side, but they make top quality products. I have hoodies that are 6 or 7 years old that still look brand new.
My all-time favorite Under Armour item is their tech zip pullovers. They are a 1/4 zip in the men’s sizing and a 1/2 zip in the women’s sizing. I own both types. I can wear a small in men’s or a large in women’s. I do not like anything tight.
These pullovers are versatile and make me look pulled together. I can wear them with dress pants to work or jeans on casual days.
I did not pay full price for any of these. Two were presents, one I purchased through Amazon, and another was purchased through the Under Armour outlet. 6pm.com is an excellent place to get Under Armour pieces for a fraction of the price. The orange pullover in the picture before was purchased by my mother-in-law through 6pm.com. It was 15 or 20 dollars less than the price through Under Armour’s actual site. I will leave links below to both places.
Pampered Chef Batter Bowls
I own 4 of these. I own two of the small size and two of the classic or original size. I use them for everything; as a mixing bowl, cereal, soup, and to store leftovers in the refrigerator. I love the size, the fact that they come with a lid, and they can be used in the microwave.
