I look forward to sharing my favorite things with y’all each month. I start making my list pretty early and wait with anticipation until the end of the month.
I hope you enjoy this month’s list of favorites.
(in no particular order)
#1 – Washi Rings
A couple of months ago, I was introduced to the washi ring by Cori from The Reset Girl. She posted a picture on Instagram of this little wire device with all of her washi tape hanging on it. Well, you know us planner girls had to know what it was and where to get one.
She was going to start offering them in her shop soon, but I had to get my hands on one immediately. Can you tell I was a little excited?
I found them on Silver Sparkles Paper on etsy in several different sizes. I purchased the small and the large. I plan on using the small for travel, so it has all of my favorites on it. The large one does not contain all of my washi tape. I still have additional rolls in my office. I will probably use my washi tape storage idea for the rest of my collection.
#2 – Stickers
Considering I am a huge planner fan, this one should come as no surprise. I love stickers for my planner. You can find them just about everywhere: Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, Etsy shops, Scrapbook.com, and the list goes on.
I have listed a few of my favorites below in the sources list.
#3 – May Designs notebooks
A couple of months ago, I kept seeing all of these adorable May Designs notebooks popping up one my Instagram feed. I wasn’t exactly sure what they were, so I had to check out the Website. When I saw they made Oprah’s list of favorite things, I knew I needed one.
About a month and a half ago, they discounted and retired some of their prints. So, I took that opportunity to purchase a couple to see if I liked them. Well, that was the start of my obsession because now I own 7 books. And, that number will keep on growing.
May Designs books are very well made. The binding is not glued, but stitched. The paper is very thick and good quality. Overall, I know these little notebooks are going to last a long time.
I am not sure what I will use six of the seven books for because I want to use them for something special, so stay tuned to see these little beauties in action.
#4 – Marine Parents pouches
I am a HUGE supporter of Etsy shops and small businesses. There are many times that I could run out to Wal-Mart or a large retailer and purchase an item at a cheaper price, but I decide to look online instead.
Small business owners put their hearts and souls into their products. I have found the customer service is usually top-notch and they want their customers to be happy.
This definitely applies to Marine Parents. I found their shop on Instagram and thought they made the cutest pouches. They have pouches for almost anything. So, I started scrolling through their feed and noticed this adorable navy blue fabric with bright and colorful accents. I decided to email them to see if they still had the fabric.
April got back to me very quickly and said they still had the fabric and said she would make a pouch for me using it. And, that is another reason why I love small businesses. That item wasn’t even in her shop, but she said she would make it for me. You can’t find that from a large retailer. After some thought, I chose the Project Pouch.
When it came in, I loved it so much that I asked her to make my FoxyDori a pouch too. My FoxyDori’s pouch is the Ipad size pouch with a hot pink ruffle on the front and it is PERFECT!
These two items will be the first of many from this awesome shop.
April was so kind that she offered my readers a 15% off coupon code through the end of July. I do not get any commission off of your purchase, so please don’t feel I am pushing products for money. Use the code THEGOLDPROJECT to get your hands on your first Marine Parents product. They are adorable, handmade, and are superb quality items.
And, I am adding two lifestyle favorites to my monthly favorites list because I felt I was leaving out a lot of my favorites by only including one.
#5 – Kashi Dark Mocha Almond Granola Bars
For the past six years, I have eaten the same thing for breakfast every weekday morning and almost every weekend morning. So, I thought it deserved to make my Favorite Things list.
The Kashi Dark Mocha Almond granola bars are by far my favorite breakfast item. I have tried many different granola bars and I always go back to this one. I even stock up when I am at the grocery store because I am scared they may run out.
Now, this is a granola bar that you will either love or hate. My husband hates it. He said it tastes like cardboard. But, my son and I both think they are awesome.
#6 – Havaianas Flip Flops
It is summertime, which means the perfect time to talk about my favorite flip flops. Havaianas made Oprah’s List of Favorite Things over eight year ago. Can you tell I am an Oprah fan? When I saw them on her talk show, I immediately hunted a pair down to try. The brown pair was the first pair I purchased and they came from Macy’s over eight years ago.
Yes, the flip flops on the right have been in my closet for eight years and still look brand new. I even wore them to SeaWorld and Universal Studios on my honeymoon in 2007. So, you can tell that these are top quality flip flops.
Nine times out of ten during the summer, I will have one of these two pairs of flip flops on my feet.
The black pair is the slim version. I could not find the original last summer when I purchased them. They came from Shoebuy.com. After trying both, I actually like the slim better because they aren’t as heavy.
And, this month when I purchased items for myself, I also purchased items to give away to you guys. One person will win:
- small pouch from Marine Parents
- monster stickers
- sticker album from The Reset Girl
- May Designs peach flamingo notebook
- extra small washi ring
***All of these items were purchased by me. I was not given any of these products to give away today.
