Welcome back to June’s Photo Challenge. Last week, we went through the first two steps:
Step 1: Locate all of your photos and place them in
one central location.
Step 2: Take all of your photos out of their current storage accessories.
This week is all about sorting and labeling. Once you have all of the photos out of the storage units, you are now ready to sort.
Step 3: Sort photos according to size.
Note: Please excuse the awful younger pictures of me.YIKES!
A photo of my removal and sorting process… I call it my organized mess!
All of my 4×6 photos wouldn’t fit in one pile, so I had to create two large piles. Now, to the fun part… Labeling!
Step 4: Label the back of all photos.
I think labeling is the most important part of this whole process. Why? Because when you look at the photos ten or twenty years from now, you will want to know when it was taken. I was really good about labeling, but I slacked off. So, this step took me awhile to complete. Note to self: When you get pictures developed, label them IMMEDIATELY!!!
I always like to label photos with the following information:
- the date
- individual(s) in the photo
- place or event
