Welcome back to the 3rd week of my photo challenge. Before we start today’s tasks, lets review the first two weeks…
Step 1: Locate all of your photos and place them in
one central location.
Step 2: Take all of your photos out of their current storage accessories.
Step 3: Sort photos according to size.
Step 4: Label the back of all photos.
Now, to this week’s tasks… This week is all about our 4×6 photos. We are going to sort them and then, store them.
Step 5: Sort the 4×6 photos.
I am leaving this step very broad/general. I want you to sort your photos the best way for you. My way is not necessarily the best way for others, but it works for me. So, I want you to take the best approach for you and your household. Below, I have listed the categories I used:
- Our Wedding
- Nathan & Kristin’s Baby Pictures
- College: 2000 – 2005
- The Years 2005 – 2009 (before Kate)
- The Years 2009 – 2011 (after Kate)
- Middle School & High School
Notice that I do not have one set way of categorizing my photos. Some are sorted by year and others are sorted by type. So, there is no wrong way!
Step 6: Place the sorted 4×6 photos in
individual storage units.
Step 7: Make labels for the front of each individual
photo holder. Then, place them in each container.
This is how one of my containers looks.
Step 8: Place the individual storage containers
back in the bigger unit. Then, place a label
on the front (of course!).
I used a Martha Stewart with Avery chalkboard label that I purchased from Staples for this step.
Next week, we will focus on the 5×7, 8×10, and 11×14 photos. : )
