In our kitchen, we have designated one of our cabinets as the “kids cabinet.” We have all of our kids’ cups, plates, bowls, silverware, and lids in that single cabinet. Well, let’s just say it has become a total wreck. The kids have collected way too many items and it is time to do a little cleaning out. When I open the cabinet, it is highly likely that a plate or cup will attempt to attack my face, which doesn’t make me happy at all.
Without the help of my kids (they insist on keeping everything), I plan to get their cabinet back in order. This task has to be be done by this weekend because I will be showing you guys my entire kitchen on this weekend’s kitchen tour video.
The first thing I did was take everything out of the cabinet and clean it with disinfecting wipes.
Then, I slowly put items back in the cabinet. I plan on applying adhesive shelf liner to all of my cabinets in the future.
I tried to group all of the like items together:
- top shelf – lids (in the basket) and speciality cups
- middle shelf – cups on the left and bowls on the right
- bottom shelf – plates and kid utensils (in mason jar)
After this small organizing project, which took only about 10 or 15 minutes, I was able to place these items in the Goodwill pile.
