Over the past couple of years, I have heard several people say that you should not use the heated dry cycle on your dishwasher. I had no idea why until last night…
My daughter & I were sitting in our living room watching Home Alone 2 when I started to smell something burning. I jumped up, ran all over the house checking everything from the Christmas tree to the dryer, and I couldn’t find the source of the smell. I started to panic, called my husband to come home (he was at the high school basketball game), and continued to search the house. Then, I remembered there was a load of dishes in the dishwasher that was currently on the “heated dry” cycle. So, I opened up the dishwasher, pulled out the bottom rack, and there it was… One of my daughter’s sippy cup lids had fallen through the top shelf rack and landed on top of the hot coils at the bottom of the dishwasher. It almost melted the lid in half.
I know God and my guardian angels were watching over me last night. I am so thankful that it didn’t cause a massive fire in my kitchen. But, I will tell you this, I will be purchasing a fire extinguisher ASAP. And, always remember, DON’T USE THE HEATED DRY CYCLE!!!
Count your miracles and blessing daily… no matter how small they are!
