I can’t believe another month has come and gone. March is always a busy one for me because it is packed with birthdays. So, even though it is a longer month, it usually goes by pretty fast. The end of the month means I get to share a whole new list of favorites with y’all. I hope you enjoy this month’s picks.
Lesportsac Everyday Backpack
My mother-in-law purchased this backpack for me for my birthday. I wanted a lightweight purse that I could carry on vacation this summer and after lots of looking around, I decided to ask for this one. And, I am so glad I chose this one. I love the print, the fabric is durable but not heavy, and I think it is so cute. This backpack is normally around $100, but Lesportsac was having a sale around Christmas where almost everything was 50% off, plus free shipping. So, this backpack cost under $50, which is a steal in my book.
Acrylic Washi Drawer Organization
Props to the people I follow on Instagram for this find. I kept seeing lots of planner accounts that I follow showing pictures of their washi tape organized in this cute little 3-drawer acrylic organizer. So, after some searching, I found out it was an Interdesign acrylic sunglass organizer that they purchased on Amazon. So, I immediately went to Amazon and purchased one for myself. And, it is my favorite find in a long time. I think I now I have washi organization peace. I know that probably sounds amusing, but I am serious. I have tried organizing my washi tape in many different methods; washi ring, acrylic box, ArtBin container, a canister, and the list goes on. None of these methods worked for me. But, now I am completely happy.
If you want to purchase one, make sure you purchase the one with divided drawers. There is a similar version on Amazon that doesn’t have the divided out drawers.
Bic Mini Wite-Out Runner
After I asked for wite-out suggestions on my Bag Organization with Pouches video, I had several great recommendations. I decided to go with the Bic Mini Wite-Out Runner. The difference between the one I was using and this one is that the mini has a twist cap. So, the tape is protected when it is placed in your bag. I have no idea why Bic has not done this same technique with their original size tape runners. It makes a world of difference. I can now travel with my wite-out runner again.
Staedtler Black 4-Pk. Pens
You guys have heard me rave about my Staedtler pens over and over again. Well, now I found that you can buy black in a package of 4 as well. And, I am super pumped about it. In the variety packs that I have, the black is always the one that runs out the fastest because I use it the most. Now, I have an entire set of black pens, so I should be good to go with writing in my planner for a long time.
Now, we are to my lifestyle favorites…
The Selection Series
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw this one coming because I have talked about it several times in the past month. I feel a little dumb because I talked about reading The Selection in my 2016 Goals video not knowing that The Selection was the first of three plus books. So, I was in a mad dash to find the second one after zipping right through the first one.
I read all three of these books in 3 weeks. That in itself says that I really enjoyed them. If you asked me what they were about, I would say a mark between The Hunger Games and The Bachelor. If you read them, it makes complete sense. They are about a group of 35 girls chosen through a lottery to compete to win the heart of the prince and become the next princess.
This may be one of those TMI topics. Before I get started, I will state that I am not a doctor nor do I claim to be. What I am about to say is my opinion only.
If you have been following me awhile, you probably know I was told I have a low functioning thyroid in May of 2015. I still wasn’t feeling well after a month on thyroid medication, so I went back to the doctor and they wanted to check my vitamin levels. I was extremely low on Vitamin D. So, I got placed on a Vitamin D supplement and I decided to go gluten free. Fast forward to around January of this year, I was feeling better, but my stomach didn’t feel right a lot of the time. So, I did some research (I research everything) and found that people with thyroid and gluten issues may find help in a probiotic.
What is a probiotic?
A probiotic is a supplement that helps your digestive system. It basically gets your gut back in check. I didn’t know this, but being on a birth control pill and/or an antibiotic ruins the good bacteria in your stomach and you need that good bacteria to fight the bad. It was like a lightbulb moment for me. I was on a birth control pill from the age of 18 to 26. At that moment, I knew my gut was not functioning correctly. So, I decided to get on a probiotic.
I am not sure what probiotic is the best. I looked up reviews online and chose one with a nice amount of CFUs. Plus, the one I chose was on sale at Walgreens at the time.
It has really helped my stomach. Now, if you decide to take them, I will warn you that the first two weeks are a little rough with the cleaning out of your stomach. But, after that, it is great. They have kept me regular and my stomach doesn’t cramp nearly as much as it used to.
