One of the downsides of the home we just purchased is the size of the master bathroom. The size itself isn’t bad, but the amount of storage that is offered is a lot less than our previous homes. If you take a look at the pictures, you probably think we have a huge linen closet in the middle of the room, but we don’t. That closet actually houses the hot water heater.
It is a small issue that didn’t bother us at all when deciding to purchase or not because of all of the other awesome qualities about the house. It just meant that I would have to get creative with storage solutions.
You might not be able to tell from the pictures, but there is a nice amount of space beside our sinks. Enough space for us to add a storage cabinet to help store some of our necessities.
After searching for a few weeks, I decided to purchase the Fieldcrest Armoire from Target in white after reading the reviews.
It was pretty simple to put together (with my husband’s help) and we now have a home for our towels and my feminine products.
In addition to the linen cabinet, I still needed a place for our wash rags, hand towels, and my hair electronics. So, for my birthday, my mom purchased me the extra narrow cabinet-size Elfa mesh drawer system to help with the rag and hand towel issue. The Container Store has an amazing Elfa sale during January.
For the hair necessities, I had a white brocade tabletop file from The Container Store (currently not sold online) that I wasn’t using after reorganizing my office files.
So, I decided to use it for my hair care electronics.
Note: I will not be placing hot electronics in this metal bin. I will make sure they are completely cool before doing so.
The cords may look like a jumbled up mess, but they actually aren’t. It is hard to tell the difference because they are all black, but each cord is separated from the others.
Bottom Drawer: Hand Towels
Top Drawers: Wash Rags
The top portion of the linen armoire holds my nail polish, manicure supplies, and extra hygiene goodies in the basket.
Wicker Basket – Threshold Seagrass Khaki Basket @ Target
Nail Polish Basket – Ashley Stacking Tray c/o Spectrum
You might be wondering why I put my nail polish and manicure supplies in a wire tray and not straight on the shelf. I did that to make it easier when wanting to use the polish. I can grab the entire basket out to use and then, place the entire thing back in the cabinet when I am finished. I will not have to reach around products to get to others.
The single armoire drawer contains my monthly feminine products.
And, the entire bottom half of the cabinet stores our towels. With a family of four, we have a nice amount of towels. Only a small portion are shown in the pictures.
And, our scale slides underneath until it is needed.
And, one more goal for 2015 gets marked off of my list. Woohoo!!!
