Miss. Kate had her 5th birthday last week. Where does time go? It seems like only yesterday I was holding her in the hospital and now she is five. And, I keep saying 5 is the new 13 because she is one sassy little chick. I can’t mention that too loud, though, because my family members love to tell me that Kate is a mini-me at that age. Bless my mom!
But, I honestly wouldn’t have her any other way.
The theme of Kate’s birthday was Disney Frozen, of course. I think we have purchased every Frozen item they have sold and that we could get our hands on. It took my entire family looking for Frozen birthday plates and napkins to actually find them in stock. My sister finally found them and purchased every set they had in the store.
Kate didn’t have a huge party, just a few family members. She gets a little shy when the attention is solely on her, so we haven’t stepped out of the comfort zone yet and had a kids’ party.
We did do something special for her Big 5th birthday, though. I will share all the details next week when I talk about our Spring Break travels.
But, back to the party…
I ordered her Frozen cookies from The Cookie Lady in town. I ordered enough for preschool, daycare, and us.
Then, we ordered her an Anna long sleeve t-shirt from TuTu Kute on Etsy.
We covered the coffee table with a white plastic tablecloth with lace detailing for $0.97 at Wal-Mart and used it for her presents.
On the kitchen table, I used:
- Pier 1 3-tiered buffet server with tissue paper for the cookies
- White Mainstays polyester tablecloth from Wal-Mart
- Pink plastic tablecloth folded and used as a table runner from Wal-Mart
- Disney Frozen plush Anna doll from The Disney Store
- Disney Frozen plates and napkins (available here & here)
The cake was made by a very talented lady in my hometown that has made every cake my children have gotten since birth. If you would like any details, please send me an email.
And, a picture of the birthday girl with her cake.
Her grandmother purchased her a customized cape with a “K” and crown from Superfly Kids. It is adorable and very well made! My daughter prefers to get costumes as presents instead of toys at the moment.
What sealed the deal for us was when she said it was the best birthday ever. She loved everything from the decorations to the cake and presents. She literally partied all day long and is already planning her party for next year. Did I tell y’all that we are planners?!?!
