If you follow me on Instagram, you may already know this, but my New Year’s Resolution for 2015 was to start reading more. Actually, it was to read, period. I have never been a reader. I purchased magazines just to look at the awesome pictures and barely ever read articles published in them.
So, for 2015, I set a goal to read 12 books (one a month) by December 31st. So far, I am doing awesome and I am loving it. I am being really careful about what I choose to purchase and read. I don’t want to feel forced to sit and read. I want to enjoy it! I am not a big TV watcher, so I have been spending my extra time (after family and blogging) reading.
I do not like reading on my Ipad. There is just something about holding the book and flipping through the pages that I need in order to enjoy the process, so I have been purchasing every book. That means that I am starting to get a nice size book collection going on in my office. At the moment, all of my books are fitting on one shelf of my office bookcase (you will see that in my office tour this weekend), but when I start accumulating more and more, I will have to rethink my organization and I will definitely share that with you guys.
For those of you that know me well, you know that I am a huge list lover. I love to make lists, whether that means a to do list that gets marked out or a collection of items that never get marked out. So, of course, I wanted a way to remember all of the books I have read in a given year. I thought it would be neat to look back on through the years.
Good timing on my part because I have recently become addicted to May Designs books. I now own 6 and I purchased all of them within a couple of weeks. I can’t pass up a good deal on an awesome product that I will definitely use.
I purchased the purple Bike Ride MayBook that was retiring and I felt it would be the perfect book tracker from Day 1.
For the inside of the tracker, I decided to use my StudioL2E stamps and some number stickers to add some cuteness to my list.
