So, my daughter ended up not having to take a Valentine’s box to school this year. But, she really wanted to make the castle off of Disney’s Frozen. And, this momma was up for the challenge. Thank goodness my daughter decided on this theme at the beginning of January because it gave me a month to start saving supplies. After saving a few paper rolls and a trip to Hobby Lobby, we were ready to start. Before making a trip to Hobby Lobby, I printed out two inspirational pictures to use as guides.
The first picture is actually from the movie and the second one is the one I used for the project. It is the Frozen castle that Disney is currently selling.
My supply list:
- 2 toilet paper rolls
- 2 paper towel rolls
- 3 different size boxes (I used cereal, baby formula, and granola bar boxes)
- wrapping paper
- scrapbook paper (blue, teal, gray, and a gold glitter)
- hot glue gun
- gold and silver glitter glue (I purchased them from Dollar Tree)
- black puff paint
- Martha Stewart snowflake punch
- white paper
Step 3: I measured out enough gray scrapbook paper to cover the paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls. Then, cut it out and glued it to the rolls.
Step 8: I created a door with the gold glittered scrapbook paper and scissors. Then, attached it to the front of the boxes.
I purchased mine from JoAnn.
Step 10: I placed Kate’s name on the front of the box with scrapbook stickers.
Step 11: Using black puff paint, I painted a door knob on the castle door.
