Welcome to my second Home Tour post. If you missed the Introduction post, don’t forget to check it out. I shared the outside of our home, plus the garage and shed.
Today, I am sharing my kiddos’ side of the house. We were blessed to get a home that has a split floor plan. Kate and Derrick have one side of the house and Nathan and I have the other.
Kate’s room was originally a room for a high school girl that loves rodeos and horses. The room has tin on one wall, dark brown stained walls, concrete flooring, and actual barn wood on the windows. It was an adorable room if that is your type of thing, but everyone knows my Kate is all about the color pink, tutus, and princesses. So, the tin and wood are coming down, a chair rail is going up, flooring will be added, and two girly-girl colors are going on the walls.
The walls are going to stay the same, but the carpet is getting ripped up and new flooring is going down.
The only big change in this area is that I am going to work on making it look more like a kid’s bathroom. And, remember I have a daughter and son, so it is going to be a challenge to make it gender neutral.
Derrick’s room will be getting new flooring (bye bye carpet), two new paint colors on the walls with a chair rail, and a transition to a big boy room.
Stay tuned to see all of the posts and progress taking place in this area of our home.
