I have been a planner all of my life. I carried an assignment notebook in school and now, I carry several calendars and planners. But, I have never been a “planner decorator.” I have only used my planner to jot down assignments, appointments, meetings, etc. No fancy decorating involving stickers, stamps, or embellishments have ever taken place. But, this chick is about to give it a shot. I have been inspired by the awesome planner community that I have joined and I think I can handle a little razzle-dazzle to my special organizing accessory.
This is my first post and video over the subject, so don’t expect much. I plan to periodically post about it to see how I have evolved. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I gradually get better and don’t mess it up completely. So, I hope you follow along with me.
Let’s start out by taking a look at last week’s spread…
Not very creative or attractive. I have the information on there, but that is about it.
And, now let’s look at this week’s…
The only complaint I have about the Erin Condren life planner is the morning, day, and night sections. I do not plan out my day in that manner because I work during the morning and day. So, if I used the planner the way it was intended, then the night would be completely full and everything else would be blank.
So, today I am acting like the headers aren’t there, but in the future, I plan to cover them in some manner.
The “Morning” Section
I use the “Morning” section for my YouTube channel. I posted my weekly video schedule using Studio L2E stamps and VersaMagic ink.
You can see that I have some learning to do. First thing I have already learned is that it takes a little bit of time for the VersaMagic ink to dry. So, I do not need to touch the ink immediately after apply it.
The “Day” Section
I use the “day” section for my blog posts. Once again, I used the StudioL2E stamps and VersaMagic ink for this section as well.
For my next “Plan with Me” post, I will have to do something different for the blog banners. I didn’t realize they were bigger than the space allowed in my planner.
The “Night” Section
I use the “night” section for personal and family business. I usually do not have a lot of information to write in these boxes, but it is nice to have them in case I need to write down doctors’ appointments, meetings, etc.
I marked the section with my Studio L2E stamps and VersaMagic ink once again. I really like these stamps, but I am definitely going to have to get more practice and buy a smaller acrylic block for the coil. I can’t apply the ink correctly beside the coil region.
The Bottom Section
I use the very bottom section for meal planning. So, I applied washi tape to the words across the bottom. It was a tad bit distracting. So, now, I can focus on my meals without having other information present.
I still have a lot of learning to do, but it does look better than last week’s spread.
