I have wanted to do this post for awhile, but I was waiting on the perfect time. I have told y’all many times in the past that I am a blog admirer. I have seen many of my favorite bloggers post about the contents of their handbags and have oohed and aahed every time. Why does this sort of thing fascinate me? Because I am an organizing fanatic.
Confession time: I can sit and watch planning and organizing videos on YouTube all day long!
After seeing all of the amazing purse organization posts, I wanted to do my own, but I didn’t feel like my handbag was that interesting… until now! It really isn’t the contents of the bag that I find interesting, but the bag itself.
Have you heard of Jo Totes?
If you are part of the blogging world, you probably know all about this amazing brand and their awesome products. Jo Totes specializes in camera bags. Not the bulky and unattractive bags, but the beautifully made ones. You can now carry your camera and accessories in a stylish way without looking like you even own a camera.
But, here is the best part…. You don’t have to carry the bag as a camera bag. The inserts are removable, which means you can carry it like a normal purse. That is actually how I use mine. I like the option of having the compartments if I ever need to carry my camera somewhere, but it makes an amazing purse as well.
Jo Totes was so sweet that they sent me a Gracie tote in Butterscotch to use and review.
Have I mentioned it has a ton of compartments? You know the organizer in me LOVES that aspect of it.
And, now, take a look at what all goes in my Gracie tote…
My purse contains:
- Conair hairbrush
- Vera Bradley neoprene organizer in Flower Shower
- Vera Bradley checkbook cover in Plum Crazy
- external hard drive with case
- Vera Bradley lanyard in Tutti Frutti
- Better Life Bags Key Fob
- Sharpie highlighter
- ink pen
- eos lip balm in Summer Fruit
- Clinique Stay Neutral powder compact
- pill organizer that contains ibuprofen
- cough drops
- small notebook that I use as a checkbook register
- FORAY business card holder in pink from Office Depot
The large front zipper pocket stores my external hard drive. Remember, this baby gets extra special care since I broke my other one. I am trying to prevent that from happening again.
All of the inside compartments are made of a nice powder blue silky cotton fabric, which I love.
The small back pocket also contains this amazing fabric.
If you wanted to use the inside for a camera, this is what the dividers look like inside the bag.
Inside the main compartment, I store my credit card organizer, which is actually a business card organizer. After years of piling cards on top of each other in my wallet and getting completely frustrated everytime I needed one, I decided to get something that I could flip through and see them all.
You may be wondering if I really have that many credit cards…
I actually don’t. I carry an insurance card for all of us, dental card for all of us, store reward cards, gift cards, and business cards of businesses we use often. I only have a couple of credit cards.
My checkbook register also goes in the main compartment. Remember, I use a small notebook that I purchased at Wal-Mart.
My hairbrush , keys, and Vera Bradley organizer also go in the main compartment.
The front pocket of the organizer contains cough drops. You know, it is that time of year.
The middle zippered compartment holds extra pens and a highlighter.
And, the top zipper (or, main) compartment holds my checkbook, pill organizer, and lip balm.
One of the pockets on the front of my bag contains my powder compact and the other one is empty, for now.
And, here is the best part…
I still have a ton of space left!!!
You may be wondering where my planner is… Well, I am switching planners for 2015 and I will have several posts devoted to my planner real soon.
The last aspect of this bag that I LOVE is the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is padded and has extra protection, which is amazing. I took the photos below where you could see the nice padded strap.
I can’t say enough great things about this bag. I love the compartments, the color, the size, the fabric, and the protective metal feet on the bottom.
So, are you ready for you chance to win $100 to purchase one of these amazing bags? Jo Totes has many wonderful styles and colors of bags. If this is a little big for you, there are many other options to choose from.
