Happy Valentine’s Week. Or, at least I should call it that because I have 3 gift posts coming your way this week. The first two involve ideas for school or daycare age kiddos and the last is for teachers, daycare providers, etc.
So, let’s get right to it…
The first happy is what Kate is giving her kindergarten classmates. We decided against candy because I know the kids will get plenty of that on Friday. So, we decided to go with something all young ones like when they are learning to write for the first time: PENCILS!
Ok, I must confess, I still love pretty decorated pencils. I always snatch a couple of packages when I go to Wal-Mart, Target, or Dollar Tree.
Miss. Kate has approximately 20 kids in her class. So, we picked up enough packages of pencils for every student to get four. That ended up being seven packages. At $0.98 a package, I thought that was pretty awesome.
For each Valentine’s Day happy, I used:
- 4 pencils
- Valentine’s washi tape from Pick Your Plum
- shredded paper
- red and white bakers twine from Pick Your Plum
- a clear gifting bag from Wal-Mart
- a Valentine’s Day printable that I created using Microsoft Word
- 3″ ornate punch from Hobby Lobby
I used three pieces of white printer paper and my shredder to create the filling for the bags.
I placed the shredded paper and pencils in each bag. Then, I tied them up using the red and white bakers twine and added my printable with washi tape. I created the printable on Microsoft Word and printed them on cardstock. Then, punched them out using my ornate punch.
And, that is all for this simple Valentine’s Day happy.
