Good morning! Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they are treading water? Since 2014 started, I have felt like I can’t get motivated and in the right mindset. Thankfully, this isn’t affecting my blog or organizational thoughts, but it sure is in every other area. Hopefully, I will quickly get into the groove of this new year. Only time will tell!
Enough with the side talk. I have a tendency to ramble.
As I was posting about my office updates, I realized I haven’t given y’all a glimpse of my bookcases since May 21, 2012. Can you believe it has been two years? Time sure does fly when you have so much to do.
On that day, my bookcases looked like this…
Unbelievably, not a lot has changed, but I have made a few adjustments.
The “Keep Calm and Fight On” sign was purchased through Jane. It is an 8×10 print that we framed. The clear jar in the center is holding our empty coin rolls. I needed a place to put them (they were shoved in a drawer) and I thought they added a manly touch to my husband’s bookcase.
The four baskets on the top shelf were purchased at Target. They are the Threshold global large milk crates. I have eyed these baskets for a year now, but needed a reason to purchase them. Once I moved the diplomas to the desk area, the top of the bookcases made a perfect spot for them. I will share the contents of each basket in a later post.
My sister and her husband bought me the Coton Colors “Hotty Toddy” plate and “Ole Miss” attachment for Christmas. The Colonel Reb was purchased right after the mascot change in 2005 (I think).
My husband’s poor football statue kinda got a beating two days ago. My son got a hold of it and pushed it off the shelf. So, I have to glue his arm back on. I am not sure if it is a boy thing, but my son loves to knock things off counters, tables, shelves, and any other surface just to see what it looks like when it hits the ground.
The small green bins need a little bit of organizing. You already know you will see a post about these little areas in the future.
My husband’s bins hold some miscellaneous stuff that has been thrown in there.
One of mine holds my camera supplies. WHAT A MESS!!!
And, the bottom one holds washi tape. I know, I am just starting to purchase these awesome tapes. My collection is really puny at the moment. But, believe me, it will grow!
The box on the bottom shelf holds all of my scrapbook paper. And, the black box under my little white owl holds gift tags.
My bookcases are transforming everyday. Even after two years, we are still molding them into a perfect storage area for us. I am learning that these things definitely take time.
