Welcome to the third post for my “The Journey of a Name” series. If you missed the first two posts, please feel free to check out a link below:
I have wanted to write this post for awhile now and I am so excited that it fits into this series. When I started this blog back in 2011, I had NO IDEA what I was doing. I didn’t know what I was supposed to write about on a blog and really had no clue why the idea popped in my head. I just knew that I liked to write, felt more comfortable expressing myself through words, and needed something that I could find pride in doing. Basically, I was on a hunt to find my passion. You know, my husband had football and I was a little jealous of his excitement over it. I told my sister for the first time and I seriously think she laughed at me. But, I did it anyway.
After setting up an account, I started doing a little research. I found blogs that I truly loved, started following them, and looked at how they were running their space. Three brilliant and talented ladies became my inspiration and they are still my inspiration to this day! Each one of them brings a different aspect to their blog and I admire them wholeheartedly.
Some people dream of meeting celebrities… Me? I hope to meet these inspirational women one day!
Are you ready to see the women that have inspired this space?!?! I am more than excited to share them with you.
1. Jennifer Jones from iheart Organizing
Jen is an organizing fanatic just like me. She has the best ideas and her photography skills are amazing. I am still trying to make my pictures look as whimsical, clean, and crisp as hers. It is going to take a lot of practice and more lighting that is for sure. She pours herself into every post no matter if she is talking about organizing a linen closet or binder. She will definitely make you want to run out and buy a new storage container or basket, even if you are like me and already have too many.
In the past, I have been given comments on my blog that called me an “iheart Organizing Wannabe.” Well, that is kind of a compliment. Jen was blogging way before I even thought about the idea. I love her blogging style and hope I am half as good as she is one day.
Here are a few of my favorite posts…
She has several studio posts, but this is the most current post.
2. Alejandra Costello from Alejandra.tv
Alejandra has a station on YouTube called Home Organizing. I watch every single video she posts. And, if I am completely honest, I get a little giddy when I see she has posted a new video. And, I may watch them more than once… or, twice… or, three times.
My daughter even loves Alejandra and her videos. When Kate hears the intro music for one of Alejandra’s videos, she stops what she is doing and runs to my laptop so she can watch with me. I may have a little organizer-in-training.
A few of my favorite videos are below:
3. Ashley Stock from Little Miss Momma
She has given me strength during some of my most difficult times. I love her entire style, home and personal. She seems very down-to-Earth and I love that about her.
Some of my favorite posts of hers include:
I could honestly go on for hours about my love and respect for these women, but I am sure you might get sick of my rambling (insert smile).
So, who are your most inspirational people? Do you have certain individuals that you look up to and feel a connection with, even though you may not have met them?
