At the beginning of 2014, I shared my list of goals for the year.
#5 on this list states, “Make the cabinets in the kids’ bathroom more functional and organized.” Well, that is just what I am going to attempt to do. Their bathroom is a MESS! We have thrown stuff in the cabinets and drawers just to get it out of our sight. I guess we feel like if random things sit in their drawers we will never know because we aren’t in there very often.
Well, enough is enough!
If you notice, I have several projects going on at the moment.
- Master Bedroom
- Office (haven’t shared the change here, yet)
- Derrick’s closet
- And, now, our kids’ bathroom
Some may be wondering why I start projects without finishing others. It has to do with our budget, sales, if I have actually found what I am looking for, and inspiration. Sometimes, I can only purchase what is on our budget at the moment. It is a lot easier to purchase a few $1 bins from the dollar store than to purchase a lamp or rug for an area. I purchase things when they fit into our budget, which is pretty tight. Remember, we live off of two teacher salaries.
Next, when I am working on a particular area, I have a vision in mind. Sometimes that vision changes, the office (for instance), but I will not purchase something that I am halfway in love with. I have to be all-in or all-out. And, sometimes, it may take several months to find that exact item I am searching for. So, until that time arrives, I move on to other projects.
Last, sometimes I have to step away from a project to see it clearly. I may have a bare wall and can not find something to fill the space. So, I step away for a little while to see if something inspires me.
Sorry for rambling, but I wanted to address why I haven’t finished a few things. I know it drives my husband insane. I always tell him that there is a method to my madness!
Back to the task at hand…
I wanted to give everyone a look at the bathroom cabinets and drawers before I touch anything.
Note: I honestly went into the bathroom with my camera and started snapping. No rearranging here!
