This weekend, I have been in a cleaning, organizing, and Fall mood. I cleaned my house (it was embarrassingly dirty), got out all of my fall accessories, and put some things in the attic. While I was in the attic, I stumbled upon some things that I had saved from when Nathan & I started dating in high school. Most people would think it was nothing but paper and junk, but these pieces of paper mean the world to me! Nathan swore for years that I had thrown some of them away, and I am thankful that he was wrong. I plan on having all of the old cards, letters, etc. framed, so Kate can see how her mommy and daddy fell in love. Mushy? Maybe!!! But, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here are a few of the things I found…
|These sat on the front lawn (on a stake) of the high school
the day of the football games… All of the players had one.
This was from Nathan’s last football game in high school (Nov. 6, 1998).
|This was the note on a set of yellow roses that started it all. He gave them to
me after we went on a date in June 1997. We didn’t start dating until 1998, though. I have
no idea why the picture wouldn’t turn the other way.
