Happy Tuesday! Today, I am sharing the handbag that I will be carrying this fall and winter and all of the contents. For years, I thought I was a shoe girl. Which I am uncertain why I thought that, except the concept sounded great. And, hey, I was a fan of Sex and the City and Carrie Bradshaw was a shoe addict. So, I guess I thought I needed to be one too.
Then, I realized there was a whole community of people that were planner addicts just like me. I have been a planner girl since I can remember, but I didn’t realize there were others as obsessed with it as me. So, then my bag obsession started to shine through. Now, every time I see a new handbag, I think, “Man, that would make an awesome planner bag!” And, if it doesn’t fit as a planner bag, then my mind just makes it a handbag that I will use and carry my planner.
Enough with my rambling…
So, this past spring, I was checking out Jessica Quirk’s blog, What I Wore, when I saw the adorable outfit she was sporting on that day’s post. It screamed, “Me!” I am a blue jeans girl. If I could wear jeans every day of my life, I would be a happy camper.
The entire outfit was right up my alley. So much that I purchased the sweatshirt she has on, but in a black version because the white was sold out. From the top to the jeans and tennis shoes… And, the backpack purse. I carried a black patent leather backpack purse in the 90s when I was in middle school and loved it. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought about carrying around one again in my 30s.
Of course, I had to click on her links to figure out where to get the purse. And, it came from one of my favorite companies, Vera Bradley. But, the price was $258.00. And, this chick isn’t about to spend that much on a purse unless it is for a Christmas or birthday gift, and even then I want my loved ones to get it on sale.
One thing you need to know about me if you don’t know it already, I do not like to spend full price on anything. No sarcasm! I will literally find something I like, pin it, and wait until it is the price I am willing to pay. So, I started saving my money in case that day came.
Long story short, at the end of the summer, Vera Bradley was having a 30% off sale, plus I had a coupon for $30.00 off. And, if I spent over $75.00 it was free shipping. In addition to that, they were offering a free Envelope Wristlet that retails for $58.00 for FREE with your order over $100. SCORE!
So, I ended up spending $150.00 all together plus got the wristlet for free. I thought that was an amazing deal and I couldn’t pass it up. And, the rest is history!
And, here is what I will be carrying in my new backpack purse this fall and winter…
I contacted Marine Parents and asked if they could customize me another iPad sleeve that matched my new handbag. They were so sweet and matched it perfectly. I am above ecstatic over it! And, they even sent a pencil pouch for me to use too. I highly recommend shopping with them. Such sweet people to work with and the quality is top notch.
And, I am still using my Orla Kiely pencil pouch. I love that little thing. Instead of holding pens, I am using it to carry some small necessities. And, don’t forget to check out Orla Kiely for Target’s new Meadow line. I have left a link below. Super cute and of course, I ordered three pieces that my mother-in-law was sweet enough to pay for and hold for me for Christmas.
I would love to hear about what handbag you are carrying this fall and winter. I love to check out new handbags and planner bags!
